Hearing Testing

Traditional hearing testing that requires a response :

  • for children up to 19 years of all abilities
  • identifies type and degree of hearing loss
  • takes about one hour

Objective hearing testing that does not require a response:

  • for assessment of newborns, infants, or others who have difficulty with the traditional hearing test

Tests include:

  • tympanometry (middle ear testing)
  • Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR)
  • Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions
